I currently teach from Turkey. Here’s what scheduling typically looks like until my relocation to the US:

East Coast (NY, DC, Boston, Miami)

7-hour difference. Excellent match: student mornings before school (7-9 AM ET) = Turkey afternoon (14-16). Alternative: weekend mid-mornings work well.

Central (Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Minneapolis)

8-hour difference. Best times: early student mornings (6-8 AM CT) or weekend afternoons.

Mountain (Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix)

9-hour difference. Weekend mornings ideal. Student early mornings (6-7 AM MT) = Turkey late afternoon.

Pacific (San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, LA, Portland)

10-hour difference. Most challenging but manageable: weekend mid-mornings work reliably. Student 6-8 AM PT = Turkey 16-18.

After my relocation to the US (coming months), scheduling will become much more flexible – especially for West Coast families where current coordination is tightest.
